Voice activated in room tablets

While voice activation will not always be necessary, it provides a comfort now as does limiting the number of devices in the hotel room.  Tablets can be personalized to individuals...and even to groups...to trigger interaction, which is NOT likely via mobile apps alone.  (An app is a destination the guest may not go to but a tablet welcoming them into the room is inviting). Everything could be handled from the tablet from the TV to lights to room service to concierge services to late check out (with a charge?) to declining housekeeping (for loyalty points?) and so much more.  This could be very powerful for business meetings and groups needing updated way finding, announcements, etc.  Finally, guests can be encouraged to book their next vacation, business hotel room, etc. before leaving.  They could also provide a review prior to leaving.

Cool idea, especially the opportunity for personalization, booking the next stay and submitting a review. The tablet makes all of these tasks very visible (and enticing even..) and convenient (i.e. all in one place, easy to use) for the guest.

Had a tablet in a stay in Amsterdam, it wasn't voice activated but it controlled every element in the room - lights, shades, television, and I could order meals with it as well as review local attractions. It made it so easy and significantly reduced clutter in the room. A massive win in terms of up-leveling the experience and alleviates additional items that need to be checked and cleaned at every turnover by housekeeping staff.

Voice and not touch is exciting and clean... I have long wondered how we might convince our customers their privacy is preserved even though the devices are shared. Lots of folks nervous about breaches, etc. Have you thought about that part of an implementation? (might be a little too far in the weeds for the sake of your initial point, but worth a shot) thank you!
